Setka includes checkout as part of the e-commerce platform. You do not need to install a payment app, connect checkout to a separate order system, or maintain a custom payment integration. Connect your Stripe account once, finish the commercial settings, and publish the store.
1. Connect your Stripe account
Open Settings → Payments in Setka and start the Stripe connection. Sign in to the Stripe account owned by the selling business, or create one if the business does not have an account yet. Complete any business and bank details Stripe requests, then return to Setka and confirm that the account is connected.
Stripe manages account verification, payouts, and the eligibility of individual payment methods. Keep the account in the business’s control and complete any outstanding requests in the Stripe Dashboard before opening the store to customers.
2. Choose the store currency in Setka
Each Setka store uses one currency. Choose the currency in Setka before publishing, then check that product prices, delivery charges, discounts, and checkout totals all use that currency.
The store currency is the currency customers see and pay in. Stripe’s payout currency may depend on the connected account and bank details, so review payout settings directly in Stripe when that matters to the business.
3. Enable payment methods in Stripe
Choose accepted payment methods in the connected Stripe account. Setka uses that account for payment processing; you do not configure the same methods again in a separate checkout integration.
The methods Stripe makes available can depend on the business country, customer location, store currency, and account status. Enable the methods that fit the store and check Stripe’s current payment-method support when deciding what to offer. Advertise only methods enabled for the connected account.
4. Publish the store
Once Stripe is connected, the store currency is set, and the intended methods are enabled, publish the store. The checkout becomes part of the live shopping path under the same storefront and order system.
There is no separate payment-to-order integration for the merchant to assemble. Setka owns the connection between its checkout and order management.
What happens after a successful payment
When a customer completes payment successfully, Setka automatically:
- creates a paid order in Setka;
- updates inventory for the purchased products;
- sends the customer an order confirmation; and
- notifies the merchant about the new order.
The paid Setka order is authoritative for fulfilment; the merchant does not need to reconcile every successful order against Stripe. The first-order guide covers picking, packing, shipping, tracking, and customer communication.
Full and partial refunds
Setka lets the merchant issue either a full or partial refund from an order. Choose the amount based on the actual customer case and the store’s returns and cancellation policy. A partial refund is useful when only one item, delivery charge, or part of an order needs to be returned.
Keep an internal record of the reason and customer communication so the team can understand what happened later. The decision to refund remains a merchant decision even though Setka handles the payment action.
Before you publish
Confirm five things:
- The correct business Stripe account is connected in Settings → Payments.
- The store uses the intended currency.
- The payment methods you want to offer are enabled in Stripe.
- Product prices, discounts, delivery charges, and checkout totals use the same currency.
- The store is ready to publish with accurate products, delivery settings, policies, and contact details.
That is the payment setup. Connect Stripe, make the commercial choices, and publish; Setka handles checkout, paid orders, inventory updates, confirmations, notifications, and merchant-initiated refunds as one system.
