A checkout replacement and a store replacement are different decisions
Keep Foxy on the shortlist if your website or CMS already gives you the product pages you want and you need configurable cart and checkout services. Choose Setka when building and changing those pages is the problem you want solved. Replacing checkout alone will not finish the storefront for you.
Setka is our product. We recommend it when you want to provide your catalog and brand direction, then guide the generated store without maintaining a theme codebase. It is not a drop-in FoxyCart integration for an existing website.
Foxy leaves product presentation with your website
Foxy’s introduction describes a hosted cart and checkout used with an existing website or platform. Its product-management guide explains that standard products live on your website or in your preferred CMS, with product information passed through add-to-cart links or forms. Digital products have a separate workflow in Foxy.
That separation is useful when your content system or custom product presentation is something you want to preserve. Foxy also documents using its checkout without its cart, allowing an existing cart to hand off to checkout.
| Decision | Foxy Commerce | Setka |
|---|---|---|
| Product pages | Built in your website or preferred CMS | Generated from the brief and catalog inside Setka |
| Cart and checkout | Hosted commerce services integrated with your site | Connected to the generated storefront inside the platform |
| Customization | Plan-dependent templates, HTML/CSS/JavaScript, and integrations | Describe storefront changes, edit copy, preview, and publish |
| Ongoing ownership | Your team owns the surrounding website and integration | Setka owns storefront implementation; you direct the result |
Foxy’s features include meaningful customization and integration options. For example, retaining your own cart while changing the checkout is a different job from replacing the product pages and catalog presentation. Decide which of those jobs you are buying before comparing subscriptions.
What Setka takes responsibility for
Setka generates the homepage, collections, product pages, navigation, and cart around the merchant’s brief and catalog. Later presentation changes stay inside the platform: request a change, review it, edit exact wording, and publish when ready.
You still supply accurate facts and decide how the store should present the business. Setka’s version restoration applies to the storefront as a whole.
To see whether this solves your problem, write down your next store change: a new collection homepage, a clearer product layout, or different wording beside the purchase decision. Those are tasks you can direct inside Setka. If the change instead involves a custom form, subscription renewal, or customer login, first trace how it currently connects to Foxy; that dependency needs its own replacement plan.
For example, imagine a coffee business that publishes brewing guides in its CMS and sells through Foxy, with customers managing recurring orders in the portal. Changing the guide’s advice is a content task. Changing what a subscription contains or how it renews also touches the commerce setup and customer communication. Name who owns each change, which system holds the authoritative information, and who checks the complete customer path afterward. Moving the product pages alone would leave part of that job unresolved.
That is the accountability question behind our recommendation. Setka puts generated storefront presentation and commerce in the same platform, so a merchant can direct page changes without coordinating a separate website implementation.
Read Foxy’s billing terms together
Foxy’s pricing page, checked on 28 September 2026, shows these USD monthly equivalents with annual billing. They are not month-to-month quotes.
| Plan | Annual-billing monthly equivalent | Included transactions | Charge per additional transaction |
|---|---|---|---|
| Starter | $30 | 100 | $0.35 |
| Growth | $65 | 500 | $0.25 |
| Advanced | $300 | 1,000 | $0.075 |
| Enterprise | From $2,250 | 10,000 | $0.05 |
The page also lists a Foxy transaction fee on Starter, Growth, and Advanced: 1%, with a $0.05 minimum and respective maximums of $0.35, $0.25, and $0.075. Read that fee separately from the charge for exceeding the included transaction allowance. User and automation allowances can add further charges, and gateway/processor fees remain separate.
Build the estimate in separate lines: subscription, transactions above the allowance, the capped transaction fee, extra user or automation usage, and processing. For example, on the displayed Starter plan, 150 transactions exceed the included 100 by 50; at $0.35 each, that allowance overage alone is $17.50. It is not the total transaction charge or the complete bill.
Check the current monthly-billing view and the terms for your expected transaction pattern before calculating a total. Foxy’s bill also sits on top of a website you build, host, and keep integrated. If you would be building that website for the store, Setka usually costs less in total: the storefront is built into the platform, so the site build, its hosting, and the integration work never appear as separate costs. Specialist workflows deserve a specific answer
Foxy documents recurring billing and a customer portal. List what customers actually do there: see receipts, change a payment method, or manage a subscription. That list is more useful than checking a box called “accounts.” Setka doesn’t have customer accounts or subscriptions yet. If your customers depend on Foxy’s portal or recurring billing, tell us what they do there at [email protected]: requests go straight to the people building Setka.
The current Foxy pricing page lists customer and subscription migration on Advanced and Enterprise. That is evidence of named services, not a promise that every source system, product catalog, URL, or design transfers. If you move to Setka, we run the migration for you: tell us at [email protected] what you have, and we’ll work out the move with you.
If your current website and Foxy integrations already do the job, preserve that useful work. The embedded-commerce guide can help separate a checkout change from a store rebuild.
If you want a branded store without commissioning and maintaining its pages, start your store in Setka. Bring your catalog and a brief for the presentation, plus any buying workflow the store must keep: tell us about it at [email protected] before you move, and requests go straight to the people building Setka.
